In a brazen daylight robbery on September 28, 2024, armed men on bikes struck fear in West Delhi as they looted gold worth ₹3.5 crore from a jewellery shop. The heist occurred in Samaypur Badli, where the criminals, disguised in helmets and armed with guns, stormed the shop around 1:30 PM. In a matter of minutes, they overpowered the staff and fled the scene with 480 grams of gold, estimated to be worth several crores.
According to CCTV footage, the men executed the robbery swiftly and made their escape on a bike, leaving the authorities scrambling for leads. The police, alerted shortly after the crime, launched an investigation, focusing on tracking the culprits using the video footage. This incident follows a similar robbery in Jangpura, Delhi, where thieves managed to steal jewellery worth ₹25 crores just a day earlier.
The recent spike in such high-value thefts has raised concerns among Delhi residents and shop owners, who are urging the police to tighten security measures in the city.
Authorities have intensified their search and are deploying additional resources to catch the suspects before they can strike again. Meanwhile, shopkeepers across Delhi have been advised to remain vigilant and ensure proper security protocols are in place to avoid becoming the next target.
